Affordable Christmas

Affordable Christmas is a shopping event for lower-income families to provide their children fun and exciting gifts during the holiday season. Families are invited through local schools and community organizations to attend the event. This four-hour annual event provides a powerful way for Sojourn East to meet real needs, foster community relationships, nurture our church members’ spiritual growth, and make God’s goodness known to a watching, hurting world. Affordable Christmas is not charity. It is about neighbors being good neighbors, and helping each other. We look forward to building intentional relationships with our guests each year.

Please sign up to serve! In order to love and serve our guests with intentionality, please register children ages 10 years of age and up. If you would like to serve as a family with children younger than 10, please email Hilary Noltemeyer so that we can help find a place that is appropriate for the ages of your children. We also encourage younger children to serve in the days leading up to Affordable Christmas by picking out gifts from our wishlist together, raising money to help purchase gifts, praying together for the families we serve, and for the event by making Christmas cards to include in our hospitality gift bags.

Please have all gifts shipped to Sojourn East (2501 Rudy Ln, 40207). If the item will not be shipped in time, you can have it shipped to your home and bring it in. 

The Mobilization Ministry exists to guide people into the fullness of life that Jesus offers by serving the city of Louisville with a goal of mutual transformation and a deepening of our relationship with Christ. This event is one way that people can tangibly share the joy and love of Christ with others who may not know him.
